CORE
The Leadership group (CORE) from North Star spent some quality team building time at SB2W’s challenge course and climbing wall. This group of Jr’s and Sr’s is lead by Catherine and Kevin Hackett as an extension of the North Star Youth Outreach.

It’s Been a While…
If you’re interested, there’s a few new developments since the last time I checked in. First of all, Cat and I are expecting to be parents sometime within the next month or so. The official due date is November 8th but you never really know.
My step brother Amos just got married a few weeks ago to a terrific lady. Her name is Heather. They seem great for each other.
My soccer team is having what some may call “a building year” even though I detest that kind of talk. (Check out the latest on the team at northstarsoccer.wordpress.com)
The North Star Youth Outreach continues to pray for guidance from the Lord as we wait patiently on the cusp of a new building project. The Outreach has been offered a building on Main Street that has the potential to house a lot of our activities and functions. We have the offer, we have our dreams for the space and now we simply must wait for The Lord’s timing in providing the resources and the clear leading to make it a reality. If you feel compelled, please join us in prayer as we try to discern our next steps.
And last but not least…hunting season is about to begin. This weekend I plan to shoot either a squirrel, a doe or both.
I’ll update with pictures soon!
Bon Jour!
Nope, not France…but good guess, though. Our most recent adventure took us down South to Haiti. With our group of 17 we maxed out the little prop-plane that took us from US soil over the ocean to the foreign land where we would be working for the week. Our task was to immerse ourselves in the culture and provide whatever help we could. Once we were on the scene we worked shoulder to shoulder with the Haitians to extend a church that had outgrown its previous space. The work was grueling but the excitement of being a part of the building of God’s Kingdom cannot be explained in words. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back.
More Gore!
The NSYO trip to Gore Mountain in New York was epic. The nine hour journey to the mt. included much laughter, sleeping, rapping and funny smells. Once on the slopes the madness continued with aerial tricks, fast carving and one incident with a grumpy old man who thought he was the best (but was clearly not).
V-Day Extravaganza
Cat and I had a wonderful valentines day. We ate cake in the morning, looked back in time to some of our first conversations and then enjoyed an evening at PF Chang’s restaurant. Love was certainly in the air.

The NSYO Christmas Party (half-time)
This Christmas/Steelers party combined the excitement of Christmas with the energy of NFL football. Who needs a half-time show when you’ve got a couple trays of whip-cream covered m&m’s and two teams racing to finish first? Wow.
